A JUVENILE who broke into a vehicle and stole items has been placed on a 15-month probation with strict conditions by the National Court in Madang.
On Monday, the Court found the Grade Eight student guilty of stealing items from a local level government president’s vehicle while the man was having lunch in a restaurant.
Justice David Cannings ordered the juvenile to go to school and to stay out of trouble.
“The fact that this child admitted and cooperated fully with police throughout deserves to be given the benefit of the doubt,” Cannings said.
“He lives with his father and stepmother and the tension at home due to this arrangement is not so good, thus the reason for his behaviour.
“He was not the brains behind the stealing, he was only part of the group but he benefitted from the proceeds and has shown remorse to the court,” Cannings said.
