TELIKOM say they are still fine-tuning their combinations after suffering two defeats in the National Capital District Volleyball Association competition.
Telikom lost 1-3 to Phoenix in round two last weekend.
“As an established club in this competition, there’s no excuse for us to give away free wins,” coach Mea Yohang said.
“It’s disappointing, but I accept defeat.
“I’m still fine-tuning the squad.
“We’ll see how we go for the rest of the season.”
Yohang said the majority of players had only joined the club this year, so they were struggling with their positional plays.
“My focus is to see how well each of them play in the next two or three games, and put them in their positions,” he said.
“Most of them haven’t found the right combinations. I’m still teaching them the tactics to give them a fair idea of playing in a town competition.”
Yohang said the team would need to re-group and improve for the remainder of the season.
“We need to get back to the basics,” he said.
“Technically, the boys don’t know what to do in the court when supporters and players pressure them.
“It’s something I figured in the past two games.
“I keep telling them to remain focused on the game,” said Yohang ahead of their round three this weekend.
