TELIKOM PNG Ltd has partnered with an education agency to provide broadband internet services.

The agreement with International Education Agency will connect all the IEA schools onto the broadband internet provided through optic fibre, IP radio and other available service platform.

Telikom chief executive officer Michael Donnelly said there were many benefits of connecting broadband internet to schools because of speed, voice and data services.

He said the integrated services digital network or circuit switched telephone network system would allow digital transmission of voice and data over ordinary telephone copper wires providing improved voice quality and lowest downtime.

IEA executive director Joe Lalie said Telikom was its preferred internet service provider.

“At IEA, we provide quality private education and in maintaining high standards, we partner with the best service providers to achieve the best education services and Telikom is no exception in this regard,” he said. “The optic fiber will provide a major increase in bandwidth to facilitate the distribution of online educational content and business applications between all IEA schools.”
