Telikom PNG

Letters

I WRITE to raise my concerns regarding our once-profitable and famous State-owned entity (SOE) Telikom PNG.
This SOE, in its glory days, used to make up to K500 million annually and was the highest Government dividend payer.
What brought this SOE to its current bankruptcy is bad management practices and the decisions of the board, past and present, and the chief executive officers.
It started with the bad decision of their famous Volunteer Staff Exist Scheme which is now kicking back. Other bad decisions include spending company money without care, and CEOs buying themselves expensive things like cars and travel.
Government need to stamp these bad practices out and Telikom will grow prosperous again.
