Ten teams register for tennis doubles tournament in Lae

TEN teams have registered for the Lae Tennis Club doubles tournament that starts this week at the Lae Golf Club, the club’s committee said in a statement.
The 10 teams were divided into two divisions and will compete for five weeks every Mondays and Tuesdays.
Division A will host Bismarck Maritime, Boroko Motors, Papindo Trading, Nano Light and Express Freight Management while Division B has Chemica, Trukai Industries, Pacific Garments, Prima Small Goods and Trans Pacific Piling.
The committee said each team would be matched up, with level one and two players competing against each other while the level three and four players playing against each other.
“This will be the same for both divisions every Monday and Tuesday evenings. Two teams are expected to play two doubles matches assigned to court one while another will do the same in court two,” the committee said.
“One team will be on a bye for that week, single round robin for five weeks, then straight into semifinals and grand finals.
“The following will be emailed to all our captains and players: tournament rules, tournament rules for finals, score sheet, players directory and code of conduct,” the said ahead of the tournament.
