SIDELINED Mendi Rugby League president Barclay Tenza sees no reason why incumbent Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League chairman Sandis Tsaka should be voted out during the annual general meeting (AGM).
“I have been administering Mendi Rugby League between 2003 and 2019 before I was sidelined by Highlands Confederation director Joe Tokam,” he said.
“But I’m backing the incumbent because of his quality leadership.
“Tsaka was elected into office as the PNGRFL chairman in 2014 and 2017 because of his knowledge to drive the code to another level.
“He earned the confidence of the Government and corporate sponsors. If there are any leagues that are trying to oust Tsaka, they should be ashamed of themselves.”
Moresby South Rugby League president Brown Murema is the only other candidate vying for the chairmanship.
“Congratulations to him. He must have been a vocal person in Moresby South and Port Moresby,” Tenza said.
