Thank you Sir Michael for bringing us this far

GRAND Chief Sir Michael Somare was a great man.
Only someone with a big heart can do what he did.
He was a humble servant with a mission to save people and liberate them from colonial rule.
With courage and determination, he took that big step that only a brave man can take.
Sir Michael and a few strong men, with him, took Papua New Guinea forward.
He was relentless and never wavered from the mission.
Today, we can stand proud of the great feat and enduring spirit that of a man.
Many can read and write.
They can attest to the determination of a teacher, who mentored us to follow in his footsteps to become literate and knowledgeable.
Sir Michael, we salute you.
Your work is done.
To his widow Lady Veronica, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and loved ones, we pray for your peace and comfort during this time of sorrow.
