The way forward for MK and Koiari

THERE is a need for Motu-Koita and Koiari to have a good road map to move forward.
After this general election, the community together with their leaders must come up with their own list of what they see as the most critical issues affecting them.
It is also important for the Motu-Koitabu Assembly (MKA) and the NCDC administration to work together with the national government to improve the lives of the  people.
I call on the authorities to critically address the ongoing plight of the Motu-Koita and Koiari communities in these key areas:
l    Review the Motu-Koita Act and make the Motu-Koita Assembly more effective;
l    The national government must in the next five years create a strong political structure;
l    The MKA, NCDC administration and the Central provincial government should urge the national government to place an immediate moratorium on all NCD land sales; and
l    A special capital city “development package” to be negotiated with the national government.
