Theodist supports school with K50,000

Education

THEODIST Stationery Supermarket presented a cheque for K50,000 to Buk Bilong Pikinini (BbP) to help reduce illiteracy rates in the country, a senior employee said.
Corporate development manager Ryan Pini said the sponsorship to BbP will encourage a culture of literacy and reading from early childhood.
Pini said they acknowledged the value of early childhood education and understood that an investment in children was an investment in the future of Papua New Guinea.
He added the presentation was to renew their annual sponsorship with BbP.
“We have been supporting BbP since 2014 because we realise that this is a path towards combatting illiteracy,” Pini said.
BbP public relations and fundraising manager Dorothy Koch said the donation would support their 16 libraries in the nation’s capital.
“The donation will help provide more education resource materials, install new lights in our libraries and improve the learning environment,” she said.
She said due to Coronavirus, they needed to ensure their children were taught in a conducive environment.
