Teachers Savings and Loans Society celebrated the 70th International Credit Union (ICU) Day in Port Moresby yesterday.
Acting chief executive Igumu Momo said that with the challenges the country was going through, continuing to deliver services remained high on their agenda.
“In times like this, we should take pride in delivering our products and services,” Momo said.
“This is why we are celebrating the day.
“We always take pride in serving our members.
“With Tisa, we want to find ourselves in serving our members.
“Our little contribution can change the way people think about us.”
Internal audit manager Dallas Kila said the theme of ‘find your platinum lining in credit unions’ meant getting the good out of bad situations.
“It’s kind of a ‘silver lining’, but with the 70th anniversary, they twisted it to ‘platinum lining’,” she said. “So regardless of what our members do, they are still able to achieve their goals through saving with us.
“When they apply for loans they are able to achieve their goals or financial objectives.”
As part of the day’s celebrations, divisions decorated their offices and were awarded prizes.
