THREE clans in East New Britain have registered small-medium enterprises (SMEs) with the Investment Promotion Authority.
The clans are from the Raluana and Bitapaka local level governments (LLGs) in Kokopo.
Members of the clans, according to Rata’a Holdings Ltd director Britain Tilom, attended a two-day financial literacy training organised by the Rata’a Holdings Ltd.
Tilom explained that the Rata’a Holdings Ltd was owned by three clans: Ekulkule of the Bitapaka LLG, Vunalom of the Raluana ward, and Tamalur of Barawon ward.
It operates as a holding company.
It registered the 205 SME names with the IPA.
Tilom said they were arranging the tax identification number application with the Internal Revenue Commission.
Their implementation strategy involves registering companies, land demarcation of all the clan members and financial literacy training.
The company is planning to venture into poultry farming and other agricultural activities.
