Three suspects arrested

POLICE have arrested three suspects involved in the murder of San Remo Club (nightclub) manager Jeremy Pon in Kimbe last Saturday.
West New Britain police commander Supt John Midi told The National yesterday that the arrests had provided good leads in investigations.
“We are now confident of solving the murder and arresting three other suspects on the run,” he added.
Supt Midi said investigations were progressing intensely and that “the motive for the killing will be determined”.
“The six men who raided the nightclub had fled without taking anything, after one of them shot dead the manager from point blank range,” he added.
“According to witnesses, they did not take anything from the patrons and others in the nightclub. It does appear that the assailants raided the nightclub to kill the manager, and then fled. Investigations will reveal more,” he added.
The slaying occurred in the nightclub late last Saturday night after a children’s Christmas party earlier in the evening.
The six men, all believed armed, entered the nightclub from the beach front where they arrived on a boat.
They rushed into the nightclub, shot Jeremy and fled in the waiting getaway boat.
Jeremy, a father of five, had stepped out of the nightclub’s security Closed Circuit TV surveillance room to check the commotion when he ran into the armed raiders and was shot.
