Thurston, Tate for run

TEAM PNG’s largest fundraising event, the Trukai Fun Run is set to kick off this week with t-shirt auctions.
The auctions are on Wednesday and Thursday in Lae and Port Moresby.
Australian NRL great Johnathan Thurston will make a special appearance at these two events alongside former Brisbane Broncos and North Queensland Cowboys star Brent Tate.
The Lae auction will be at the Lae International Hotel.
Tickets are selling for K650 a chair and K6000 for a table of 10.
The Port Moresby auction is on Thursday at the Stanley Hotel.
Tickets are selling for K800 per person and K7500 for a table. The purchase of a table comes with 100 pieces of the 2019 Trukai Fun Run t-shirts. T-shirts will sell for K10 at the auctions.
Successful bidders from the auction are able to brand the t-shirts and donate to schools they bid for.
The schools then resell the t-shirts to earn additional income.
T-shirt sales after the auction will be at K15 per unit.

Funds raised from the sale of the t-shirts go towards Team PNG’s participation at the 16th Pacific Games in Samoa in July.
