THE Lae Snax Tigers run of wins at home was temporarily halted with a 10-10 draw with Bintangor Goroka Lahanis at the Lae Rugby LEague gound yesterday.

In Kundiawa, in a battle of the cellar dwellers TNA Simbu Lions No.7 Willy Guambo gave his side a rare win when he kicked a field goal to get his side over the PRK Mendi Muruks 17-16.

The win sees last year’s grand finalists, Muruks, drop to the bottom of the ladder.

The Lahanis defence was made to work overtime with the Tigers enjoying a mountain of possession however the homeside let the Lahanis back in after leading 10-4 late in the secondhalf.

The Eastern Highlanders grabbing a try in the 75th minute through Joseph Peter who converted his own try to level the match.

Earlier Tigers secondrower and former Lahanis Elvis Dick barged his way over  for the first try of the match in the 25th minute which halfback Ate Bine Wabo converted for a 6-0.

Wabo missed his second conversion attempt after centre Joe Kingal picked up a loose ball and race 50m to score the Tigers second try.

Lahanis winger Felix Tatsim responded with a try by beating several defenders to score in the corner to trail by 6 points.

The Lahanis snatched a last-gasp try in the dying stages to draw.
