A FIELD goal by Kone Tigers’ Dobi Michael saw them edge out the Paga Panthers 7-6 during the Port Moresby Rugby Football League’s top-of-the-table A-grade clash on Sunday.
The Tigers maintained top spot on 13 points while the Panthers suffered their first loss of the season after the week seven encounter.
The Panthers had a positive start in the opening half with forwards Samuel Kiap and Siki Lesley getting their team on the front foot with good metres up the middle third.
Lesley broke through on the left edge to score a try for the Panthers to take a 4-0 lead at halftime.
Both sides struggle to find their footing in the second half with costly errors affecting their momentum, but Michael gave the Tigers edge.
