PNG has just celebrated 40 years of independence.

We are proud to become independent and are very fortunate to be alive and witness all the developments that are taking place in our country.

While some have enjoyed their celebrations in the country with or without the governments funding, the government spent a massive K10 million for the official celebration in NCD.

At the same time the 400 years old King James Bible was brought and placed in the Parliament.

PNG is a Christian nation and the Word of God is as essential and set as the basis of everything.

The King James Bible that was brought to this country is unlike the other bibles mainly because it is based on history, is 400 years old and is one of the original translated bibles.

Otherwise, the contents remain the same and serve the same purpose to which the word is God.

In the Old Testament, the Israelites came to a desert place called Kadesh Barnea where many events took place speedily and they forlorn in the land site to home. They were about to enter the Promised Land and their failure to believe in God kept them out.The Israelites were doomed to spend 40 years wondering in wilderness (Numbers 14:32)

How often do we fail God by not  believing in him?

God demands total trust and commitment.

Life seems difficult and challenging when we don’t know the Truth in the Bible for the truth will set us free from problems surround us.(John 8:32)

The 40 years of independence should recall our spiritual strengths and weaknesses in maintaining our relationship with God.
