Time to develop Vanimo town

Letters, Normal

Over the past 20 years, our little town called Vanimo, situated at the upper tip of PNG and close to the Indonesian border, has not been planned in such a way to attract the attention of Papua New Guineans and foreigners.
The Sandaun provincial planning office is responsible for this but it has not made any effort to change the image of the town like beautifying it.
Our town is unique and blessed.
So how can we make it stand out and turn it into a unique place?
The answer lies in the hands of our leaders.
If they truly love their hometown, then they should do something about it.
There are so many attractive sites in and around Vanimo.
All they need is to be developed into recreational parks or surfers’ paradise to pull in tourists.
