I APPLAUD Prime Minister Peter O’Neill’s New Year message, which urged new and tougher measures to halt police brutality, stealing, rape, killing, illegal raids and unethical behaviour and practices by some members of the Police Force. This is a timely call by O’Neill to restore public confidence in the Police Force by proposing to implement stringent disciplinary measures against these rogue cops. As many of our citizens have been victims of police brutality for so long, the Government’s proposed intervention in instilling discipline in the force is highly welcome.
