MEMBERS of Teachers’ Savings and Loans Society (Tisa) will soon be able to use their Yumi cards at Kina Bank’s automated teller machines (ATMs) and electronic funds transfer-at-point-of-sale (eftpos) machines.
This was made possible following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Tisa and Kina Bank yesterday.
Tisa group chief executive officer Michael Koisen said it would take another nine months for members to use their cards at Kina’s ATMs and Eftpos machines, as technical work needed to be completed to enable members to do so.
“This signing marks the start of the project,” Koisen said. “There is a technical team that will work on the technical aspect of it.
“Once that is done, our members can start to use their Yumi cards on the Kina systems,.”
Tisa has about 68,000 members, of which, 70 per cent have cards. Kina chief executive officer Greg Pawson said: “This is the first phase.
“We are looking at the second and third phase which would give Tisa members the ability to use their cards online. Third phase is the ability to be able to transfer funds between Kina Bank and Tisa and vice versa.”
