JIWAKA provincial police commander has issued a strong warning yesterday in Banz that he would impose a curfew if people did not behave.Supt Simon Nigi told The National that if people wanted to bring their tribal conflict into town and turn it into a battle field, then curfew would be slapped to control the movement of the people.Nigi’s warning came after supporters of two rival candidates clashed in Banz last Sunday evening, straight after counting started. He said fighting in the town did not portray a good image of the new Jiwaka province.Nigi urged supporters to stop fighting and causing  disturbances.
He said that if they had any problem, they should seek proper avenues to solve them before coming into town.He urged Jiwakans to respect the town, public facilities, business houses and people from other provinces living there.Meanwhile, the counting for Jiwaka was progressing smoothly since Sunday, Nigi said.
Security was tight near the counting venue.
