Top officers assure locals of police investigation

TWO senior police officers yesterday met with victims of a police raid at Gabi village in Port Moresby on April 28 and assured them that the internal affairs directorate will investigate the incident.
Police Internal Affairs Directorate director Chief Supt Robert Ali and National Capital District Met Supt Perou N’dranou were given information by the victims to help police with their investigation.
Supt Ali assured the victims that police would carry out the investigation.
He said the Gabi, Porebada and Ensisi Valley incidents involving police would all be investigated.
He called on the victims and witnesses to help the police if they needed clarification.
Village leaders who spoke on behalf of the community said police should make sure justice was served and officers involved should be arrested, charged presented in court.
