Toroama initiates ABG audit

THE Ombudsman Commission has provided seven names to the Bougainville President Ishmael Toroama who has vowed to initiate an internal audit into the Autonomous Bougainville Government.
“I have started working on it and to understand the Ombudsman Commission statement with seven names given,” he said.
“I am here to seek further clarification with the Ombudsman Commission,” Toroama said.
“We have to uproot corruption in Bougainville before we can see people’s labour.”
President Toroama’s trip to meet Prime Minister James Marape will coincide with his meetings with several diplomatic missions and the PNG Ombudsman Commission.
Toroama will meet with Chief Ombudsman Richard Pagen to discuss the establishment of the Ombudsman Commission in Bougainville.
The meeting with the Ombudsman Commission demonstrates Toroama’s bold declaration to combat corruption on Bouganville.
“I am looking forward do conducting an internal audit.
“I will ask the administration and everyone that is concerned with to assist with the audit.
“I will speak to the Ombudsman Commission as part of the discussion to conduct an internal audit on my way to uprooting corruption, there needs to be accountability and transparency in the affairs of the government and its systems,” Toroama said.

  • It’s good for Bougainville. Restore some confidence. people, parent, Gov’t workers, grassroots, farmers who don’t get the services when intended funds disappears.

    starting with unproductive and corrupt public servants. Officers who love 10% kickups for every public funding. PS who are bleeding AROB

    Unproductive departmental secretaries who can’t provide sectoral directions to the president and for Bougainville.

    Don’t employ exhausted PS from waigani Bougainville is not a retirement hideout. Build yourself a good house with your nasfund..go fishing..enjoy life. We have had enough of public holidays. For young honest professionals

    Maybe, limit the team size traveling to meetings outside of Bougainville incase airfares and a few nights at holiday Inn might cost abit.
