Toua to play for Nova in Capital Rugby clash

EX-QUEENSLAND Reds back Aidan Toua will spice up Bava Park tomorrow when he features for Nova against the University Piggies in round 12 of the Capital Rugby Union tomorrow.
The 33-year-old will come off the bench in his first club game in Papua New Guinea after playing his entire career in Australia.
An excited Nova coach Eddie Galele said they were thrilled to secure the service of the former Australian seven’s representative and his inclusion earlier this week had boosted preparations in the camp.
“I’m just proud and happy that Aidan Toua, a player of his caliber has chosen to join our club. It just solidifies the fact that we’re doing the right things at the club,” Galele told The National on Wednesday.
“The energy we attract is the energy we emit which is positivity. He’s gone through training really well, he handled it and enjoyed our unorthodox methods.
“It just a matter of whether he pulls through or not tomorrow that we should see him grace the field for Nova against Piggies.
“He’s a big game player and this is just another walk in the park for him. We will be expecting him to manage our game at the back end of second half and I’m definitely pushing him for the No.10 jumper.
“He’s also a classy fullback. We’re taking nothing away from our fullback. I just want to see how he manages the game and brings not only the spark but that pull in second half.”
The former Brumbies star, who made his Super Rugby debut in 2011 for Queensland and represented Australia in sevens in 2009 and 2010 and was a regular in the Reds outfit.
His presence in the round 12 fixture is an inspiration and the turnout is expected to be good at Bava Park when Nova face the fifth-ranked Piggies (1.50pm kickoff).
Nova skipper Emmanuel Levi said the announcement came as a surprise when coach Galele revealed it in a CRU media conference on Wednesday.
“I was surprised when I saw him training with us on Tuesday but it was a positive inclusion especially for our backs,” Levi told The National of Toua’s addition.
