Tourism products found in communities

Tourism in Papua New Guinea is 95 per cent community-based because most of the products are found in the communities, Tourism Promotion Authority chief executive officer Jerry Agus says.
He was speaking during the National Law and Order Summit in Lae last Friday.
Agus said 97 per cent of the products of tourism were owned by the people.
“Every single Papua New Guinean is a stakeholder in tourism,” Agus said.
“If you support tourism, you can never go wrong because our people will always benefit.
“There are some successful community-based tourist destinations such as Kokoda Track, Mt Wilhelm, Tufi and Crater Mountain.”
