CITY Lights, of Lae, beat Wap & Co Rams 19-17 to bag the Trans Highway Sevens tournament which was hosted by Morobe Rugby Football Union (MRFU) over the weekend.
They walked away with the Cup and K5,000 prize money.
Royals beat Sea Robbers 12-5 to claim the Plate while Dirty Eight defeated Madang Malabers 26-19 to win the Bowl.
The tournament was attended by teams from Madang, Rabaul, Goroka and Lae.
MRFU president Lionel Yama Kamiak hailed the event a success, thanks to support from Mineral Resources Development Company, Coca-Cola and 411 Entertainment.
“We successfully delivered this tournament on a high note without problems or major hiccups,” Kamiak said.
“I’d like to thank all teams who travelled form the different provinces to take part.
“It was a very tough tournament put up by the boys in Lae.
“We are looking forward to a bigger and better tournament next year.
“After this, some teams will be thinking of taking part in the Sports Tok Sevens and Agmark Nines in East Sepik and they will be heading there.”
