A STATESMAN in East New Britain has condemned the former Somare government for paying lip service to the people and using them for its own benefit.
Sir Ronald ToVue said the National Alliance-led government had failed to keep his promise to grant ENB autonomy status.
He called on the Peter O’Neill-led government to grant ENB autonomy as a token of appreciation for the all the support the province had given to national development.
ToVue said the current political crisis at the national level was the very reason the province had been requesting for autonomy.
He said conflicts at national level such as the mutiny case last week affect provincial governments.
He urged the government to allocate K200 million to all provinces.
