Traffic response

THE transport and traffic response hotline and Facebook page should be incorporated into the traffic system in Papua New Guinea.
In this age where technology has become the dominant tool in our daily lives, it is vital that we have an unrestricted transportation communications system between the public and the traffic authority through the use of telephony and social media platforms.
Papua New Guineans have embraced the mobile phone technology to a stage where the world is now at their fingertips.
Essentially, the hotline and Facebook traffic systems will encourage the public to allow the quick reporting of traffic accidents or incidents, reduce response time of police and traffic authority to attend accidents or incidents, and provide the platform for a warning system.
The public is now in a better position than before to help the Government and its authority bridge the gap, with information that can subsequently reduce fatality, injuries, and costs and improve safety.
Let’s make PNG safe for everyone.
