NATIONAL Airports Corporation (NAC) staff will now benefit from ANZ financial literacy programme, MoneyMinded, following a memorandum of understanding signed in Port Moresby yesterday.

MoneyMinded is ANZ’s flagship financial literacy programme designed to boost financial inclusion in communities where the Bank operates.

It is a full day programme were participants would take part in workshops in a wide range of topics including planning for the future, making money last until next payday, budgeting and being assertive – how to say no without causing offence.

NAC acting managing director and chief executive officer Joseph Tupiri said 250 staff members in Port Moresby would undergo the programme in May.

“This small but important event (MOU signing) is a great initiative we take in partnership with a bank that cares about inclusive growth of the PNG economy,” he said.

“NAC is committed to be an organisaton of excellence through investing in the modernisation of its human resource.

“With the financial literacy training, our staff will better manage themselves financially to improve and contribute to the betterment of their families and to the development of the country.”

ANZ PNG chief executive officer Mark Barker said: “We know that financial education has a positive impact on development and poverty reduction where individuals have low levels of financial skills, education and income. MoneyMinded is ANZ’s corporate social responsibility programme for giving back to the communities.”
