A GROUP of 63 farmers in Western Highlands have undergone family farm team training facilitated through the Centre for Excellence in Financial Inclusion (Cefi) training partner, Peoples’ Action for rural development.
The training ran from Dec 14-18 to educate farmers on family farm team training modules and the market for village farmers project to prepare them to negotiate on behalf of their clusters of farmers.
The farmers were educated on setting family goals, creating family budgets, money management, methods of effective and clear communication among family members and gendered roles and responsibilities.
Cefi special projects manager Busa Jeremiah Wenogo said the training would prepare lead farmers for partnership agreements with fresh produce buyers.
Farmer Martha John said the training was an eye-opener.
She had been farming with her husband and family for more than 10 years.
