TREASURER Ian Ling-Stuckey yesterday presented a cheque for K130 million to the National Judiciary for a court complex in Port Moresby yesterday.
Work on the building started in 2017 and is expected to be completed next year. “I am pleased to officiate at today’s presentation and contribute towards the tireless effort by the National Judiciary to complete our National Court complex,” Ling-Stuckey said.
The country’s top judges and officials, including Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika, Deputy Chief Justice Ambeng Kandakasi, Justice Gavara Nanu, Justice Elenas Batari and secretary Jack Kariko were in attendance.
Ling-Stuckey confirmed that K325 million of the K470 million structure, representing about 69 per cent of the project would be funded by the Government.
He assured the National Judiciary that the Treasury and Finance departments would continue to support the project.
