Tropical 9s set to go, all elligible

 THE Fairfax Tropical Nines Tournament is all set for October 12-16 at the Sir John Guise Stadium, Port Moresby.

A cash prize is on offer for the champions in the cup, plate and bowls finals.

The tournament has attracted 40 men’s and six women’s teams from the Southern region.

The organisation is an affiliate of Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League and a sanctioned programme under its umbrella.

This concept was initiated by prominent sports administrator Andrew Oli who is also the chairman of the organisation.

Oli said this event was open to PNG Kumuls, Digicel Cup and overseas-based players with no restrictions applied.

He confirmed that other tourneys have their own competition rules but for this it was open to all the players which should be good for up and coming potential talents.
