Trust process, MP says

KOMO-Magarima MP Manasseh Makiba has encouraged the leaders of petroleum development licence (PDL) 7 in Hides, Hela, to trust the election process and let it run smoothly.
During the launching of the PDL7 directors election programme in Hides on Thursday, teams from teh State and stakeholders were there to show their support and acknowledge the leadership provided by the clan groups’ chairmen.
“This is an election process I helped to set up during my time at MRDC (Mineral Resources Development Company) as a lawyer,” Makiba said.
“I set the trust rules and regulations on how it runs, it’s a very fair and transparent process.”
He was part of MRDC’s first election programme under the new trust rules for the PNG LNG plant site, Gas Resources PNG LNG Plant Ltd four years ago.
“I told leaders who came to witness that programme that the same would happen here, and today it is happening,” he said.
“This process will allow landowner issues to come through the right channels to be addressed through the leaders.”
