Tsak valley not a war zone

Letters

A RUMOUR of Enga government labelling Tsak local level government as a war zone is wrong and the provincial government should withdraw this statement.
Regarding the fight in the valley, only two clans of big Sikin tribe are fighting and most of the big tribes (more than 20) are not fighting.
They want to embrace peace.
They have not been part of the fights.
Not every tribe is participating in the fights so it is wrong when the valley is labelled as a war zone.
We have had enough of fighting in the valley.
Fights have displaced mothers, children and many properties have been lost.
Many tribes have had their fair share of losses.
They realise that fighting is bad as there’s no winner.
The provincial government should know that most of those in the valley want peace and are working hard to mediate to restore peace and stop the tribal fight between Yopo and Palinau clans.
I do believe in the tribal leaders of Tsak.
I pray that God will use them to restore peace between the two clans.
The Enga government should help the leaders of the valley to mediate peace.
I salute the tribal leaders of Tsak, peace mediators, Defence Force and police personnel and others involved in restoring peace in the area.
Keep working to restore peace for the sake of humanity.
God will reward you.
For Palinaus and Yopos, please advocate for peace.
What has happened had happened and what you should work towards now is peace for a better future for our children.
Our traditional ways of solving tribal fights is there: exchange pigs: shake hands; say sorry to each other in front of law enforcers; and, stop fighting.
Let’s not lose more lives.
