Tvet school in Madang launches operation

THE Amron Lutheran Vocational School launched its operation and announced that the centre has been extended to Kranget Island.
Headmistress Melisa Sapak said Amron engineering, which included motor mechanics and welding, would be taught at the Kranget campus and tourism and hospitality, business studies and agriculture would be at the Amron Campus at Baitabag.
Tvet inspector for Mamose region Frank Sapak said hundreds of students were forced to the streets and few were selected.
Sapak said vocational schools provided second option for students who missed out on spaces.
He said Madang had four Tvet institutions and students who could not continue should enrol in one of them to continue their education.
“Tvet or vocational schools have the record of producing some very top engineers and leaders.”
Bel people’s representative in Madang Hood Kasas said Madang children in the Pacific Marine Industrial Zone project area needed the skills to prepare.
Kasas said RD Tuna canners and PMIZ would be operating on their land and marine areas and needed to employ Bel children.
