A suspect allegedly involved in the double murder of two students at the St Margaret Primary School in Brown River was arrested by police last week at Baramatta, Central.
Provincial police commander John Maru said the 16-year-old suspect from Gairapu village, Tapini, Central, was charged with the murder of two juveniles, aged 16 and 17.
Police said Solomon was in the company of the two teenagers and he was drinking alcohol with others at the Brown River settlement before their deaths.
Police alleged that during the binge, the group had a fight among themselves resulting in the death of the two.
Police said the suspect was a student at the school.
Police said the suspect was charged with murder and held at the Boroko Police cells awaiting his court appearance.
Meanwhile, Maru said a female passenger fell off a PMV truck and died shortly after she hit her head on the tarmac along Waima Road, Bereina, Central.
He said the 15-year-old from Bereina, suffered injuries to her head after the driver lost control of the truck which skidded off the road and overturned.
Maru said the driver, Colin Arua, 35, from Ere’ere village, Bereina, was on the run.
Police alleged that the driver and his wife were having an argument in the moving vehicle, resulting in the driver losing control of the truck and causing the accident.
Maru said the injured teenager was rushed to the Port Moresby General Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
