Two die on road after church meeting

TWO members of Evangelical Lutheran Church from Boana ,in Morobe, died in a road accident while returning from the church’s synod in Chimbu.
Yonki highway police patrol commander David Kilo said they were trying to find out the cause of the accident.
“The accident occurred between Young Creek and Watarais on the highway,” he said.
Yonki police said the crew of the hired bus from Gewak village in Boana died instantly.
The other man, a Sunday Christian education coordinator, also from Boana, died later at the Angau Memorial Hospital. His son was admitted with the others in hospital.
The church’s Boana district will host the next synod in 2020. The church members were returning home to Boana when the accident happened.
Former Morobe governor Kelly Naru, a member of the church, said it was a sad day for Boana.
“My condolences go to the families of the two who died. We are in mourning at Boana and are calling on Christians to keep praying for us,” he said.
