Two men arrested over marijuana

POLICE in East New Britain (ENB) have arrested two men allegedly involved in cultivating and selling marijuana.
According to reports received from ENB police commander Snr Insp Joseph Tabali the suspects were arrested during a special dawn raid operation by the members of the Kokopo police response unit and Mobile Squad 17 on Watwat village, East Pomio, on Saturday.
A total of 431 matured marijuana plants were uprooted.
Insp Tabali said two suspects were arrested on that day.
He said during the raid police confiscated 30 packets of wrapped marijuana valued at K50 each, 51 smaller packets valued at K2 each and one plastic container with marijuana seeds.

  • We can better manage this on-going issue if only we can identify WHY people are involved in this illegal behavior and address them case-by-case. Otherwise, its dog chasing tail.
