THE Vision City mega mall in Port Moresby, with a commitment towards its social responsibility, yesterday presented the PNG U-20 women’s soccer team with “Welcome Kit Wallets”.
Each kit contains items from business houses including Vision City which would be needed by the players participating in the Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Vision City’s general manager Anderson Ting told The National yesterday that the Mega Mall was pleased to support the international tournament.
“We are supporting the local team,” Ting said.
“The purpose of this Welcome Kit is also to promote the country and the mall because after this event, we’ll be using it in other countries.”
The other 15 teams will be given the same kits. PNG U-20 women’s team head coach Lisa Cole thanked Vision City for the welcome gifts.
“It was a very nice way of welcoming our team back to PNG and to kind of kick-off the (Fifa U-20 Women’s) World Cup,” she said.
“And to say that they are behind us and supporting us throughout the tournament.”
Team captain Yvonne Gabong thanked Vision City for the gesture.
