Uni only for the rich

Letters

YEARS earlier it was said that only sons and daughters of wealthy people would have chances of going for further studies and get themselves educated at universities and colleges.
Those who are financially poor and handicapped would unfortunately miss such chances.
These are being fulfilled now.
We see increases in university tuition fees for 2018 much higher than what the used be before.
The tuition fee for University of PNG has increased more than four times from K1700 to K7500 this year.
Let’s question ourselves as to who is going to afford this.
Most of us, whose parents are poor and with little money, can hardly pay for such fees.
Thus, it comes true now as foretold that “rich will get educated while poor will not”, at tertiary level.
