THE first Miss Marshall Islands to enter the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant is 22-year-old Billma Peter.
Peter has a Bachelor of Science in health and administration degree and is pursuing a Masters in health administration at the University of Arizona, USA.
Peter said she loved hiking, reading and travelling and was excited about representing her small island nation at the Miss Pacific Islands pageant in Port Moresby in November.
Her ambition was to take care of her family, especially her younger siblings.
“The healthcare system in our country leaves a lot to be desired therefore I am studying health administration so that I can help find solutions,” Peter said.
Miss Peter was crowned by Marshall Islands President Hilda Hein in the presence of an enthusiastic crowd including reigning Miss Pacific Islands and Miss PNG Leoshina Kariha and her chaperone Molly O’Rourke.
