ONLY vaccinated players will be allowed to take part when Southern Super League resumes round six of the National Gaming Control Board Cup at Moresby South Stadium on Friday.
League chairman Bagelo Solien said he had received approval of Papua New Guinea Sports Foundation pandemic management committee chairman Dr Kapua Kapua and the National Control Centre.
“Deputy chairman Gairo Pepena, treasurer Gewa Iru, secretary Indy Verena and I thank the centre, Dr Kapua, National Pandemic Response Controller David Manning and the foundation for their support,” he said.

Kapua commended the league for complying, adding that it should be seen as a model competition for others in the country to follow.
Solien said the league would comply with the Niupela Pasin measures for the remainder of the inaugural season. He said face masks, green cards, sanitising and temperature checks were required at the stadium entrance, and no more than 18 players and five officials per team permitted inside the venue.
Solien said no spectators would be allowed and team managements must cooperate to ensure that all requirements were met.
He said the remainder of the season would only be played at Moresby South Stadium and Sir John Guise Stadium. “We will not take matches to the rural venues of Kwikila, Papa and Iokea as this will be a breach of the standard operating procedures to which we have agreed,” Solien said.
