UOG students to do language training in Telefomin
PRONOUNCIATION and use of appropriate instructional language will be a focus for 11 trainee teachers set to do their practical at schools in Telefomin, West Sepik.
The students from the University of Goroka (UOG) in Eastern Highlands were posted to the remote district through an arrangement with the Telefomin District Development Authority (DDA).
Of the 11, seven will be sent to Telefomin Secondary School.
The other four will go to the Telefomin Community Health Workers (CHW) Training School.
UOG Telefomin supervisor and head of department of mathematics and computer science Priscilla Sakopa said the concept of working with the Telefomin students came about due to her observation during her classes when she discovered that some faced difficulties.
