Use all funds before election

Letters

HISTORY will repeat itself. Every five years, 60-80 per cent of all MPs get replaced by the people in their respective electorates.
In next year’s general election, there will be upsets.
Many sitting MPs will not return to Parliament for the second or third term.
What is bound to happen will happen.
To MPs, please expend all the funds in your district and provincial treasuries for all earmarked projects before writs issue.
Mind you, the Ombudsman Commission can always intervene and freeze all district and provincial treasuries six months before the issue of writs to prevent abuse and misuse of funds.
This has happened before with then Dei MP, leaving behind K14 million in Dei treasury and went into elections in 2012 only to be defeated by new comer Westley Nukunj, who had the luxury of expending this K14 million during his term.
All the best to all candidates for next year’s election.
