Veupunama face uphill fight against Mermaids

 VEUPUNAMA’s Karogo Rotona and youngster Villi Nopiri will be the key to beating the Snax Mermaids on Saturday at the Rita Flynn Netball Courts.

Despite Veupunama’s scratchy start to the season, Mermaids will not be taking this match lightly.

The Hood Lagoon team will be led by defenders Rotona and Nopiri, a member of the U21 national train-on squad, to snuff out any Mermaids attacking moves while at centre court Barbara Arivusu is expected to continue her good form. 

Mermaids’ shooters Mary Paul Beulher and Kapa Maila, who were outstanding during last week’s match against Telstars, will need to cash in on all their chances.

For Beulher is her chance to hone her shooting for a possible starting spot as the U21 top shooter. 

The Mermaids the shaping as the team to beat after opening the season with three wins and will be out to maintain that momentum.

Meanwhile in the other matches, Aroma Coast will take on Monier Paramana, Raukele play Sparrows and Esco Telstars face CPL Rebels in the main game.
