RELATIVES of a family murdered in Transgogol, Madang, in March this year are worried that police are not committed in rounding suspects involved in the case.
The Kori family – Kawas and his wife Melib and son Greg – were killed on March 25 in their Sihan village, Transgogol local level government, Madang.
The Madang provincial government assisted with hire of two vehicles for police to use to track down the suspects.
A police source said one suspect was shot dead and body taken to Modilon hospital morgue last month.
Awakun Kori, brother of Kawas, said there were more suspects to apprehend but police seem to have stopped looking for them.
“We want full justice for the brutal murder of the family.
“We are not sure if police is lazy or not given assistance to apprehend the suspects,” he said.
A police officer, who wished not to be named, said the two vehicles engaged for the Transgogol operation were not used for its intended purpose.
Madang provincial police commander Chief Inspector Ben Neneo could not be reached for comment.
However, Madang Governor Peter Yama said he has made sure police were assisted accordingly on the Transgogol operation but if policemen were having problems they should let Neneo and the administration know using the right channel of communication.
