Vision City Mega Mall will be introducing cashless shopping via shopping gift cards that will be launched in April, says mall manager Anderson Ting
“This will be targeting current and all future Vision City locations,” he said.
Marketing manager Maureen Esta said the VC Gift Card was an alternative way to do shopping without using cash and could be used to purchase in the mall.
“It is basically a prepaid money card and can be topped-up or reloaded once the balance of the card is finished,” she said.
“Customers can buy this gift card in our information counter soon, and may use this for themselves or as a gift for their loved ones, relatives and friends.
“It helps to ease buying for gifts, because the VC Gift Card is a one perfect gift for all occasions.”
Ting said their group directors held a firm belief in reinvesting back into the country, hence, they would be pushing for more investment into National Capital District.
“Part of that includes the construction of a medium-sized shopping centre at an undisclosed location,” he said.
“With this in view, we hope to attract more international retailers to bring existing businesses closer to certain urban and suburban areas.
“This is on top of providing a new platform for small to medium-sized enterprises that have been eyeing to trade in a mall environment managed by our team.
“Having this expansion, it is without doubt, will lead to more employment opportunities for our fellow Papua New Guineans.”
“I am proud to say Vision City Mega Mall has progressed a lot and will not stop the evolution to the next level being on par with international-class shopping centres.”
Vision City Mega Mall:

  • Has completed revamping its website www.visioncitypng.com to improved web visibility and search ability;
  • Will be introducing Paradise Cinema online ticketing platform by the first quarter; and,
  • Will be looking into providing complementary WiFi access throughout the entire mall before the end of this year.

“In short, our goal is to turn the conventional morning shopping into a whole day at the mall and to be more interactive,” Ting said.
Ting said he was very optimistic they would have a steady rebound from last year.
“Having in view the current planning by PNG Government, I am very much excited with what’s coming,” he said. “We cannot deny that Apec meeting hosted by PNG Government in 2018 has provided massive windows of opportunities by exposing PNG to the entire world.”
