Visitors make memorable trip to Parliament

A COUPLE from South Africa Piet and Lynda Stoop had the opportunity to visit Parliament House yesterday.
The couple, who are visiting their daughter and family who live in Port Moresby, told The National that they were privileged to be allowed to visit.
The Stoops were aware that Parliament would sit today.
“This is a very important place, beautiful and a place where decisions are made for the citizens of this country,” Piet said.
“Just to see the way it’s built and kept.
The fountain and water, it’s a peaceful atmosphere and I pray that when they make decisions here, they must be peaceful and that the people will have faith in the government and everything will be blessed.
“I really appreciate the people, they are very friendly and helpful and I pray that it remains that way.”
Lynda said she they nearly didn’t make it to Parliament.
“I love the Parliament House. I appreciate this country and the people and their friendliness, they are a very proud nation.”
