THE population of Lae is increasing daily as people from other parts of PNG travel there for different purposes.
As a result, life there is becoming risky due to an increase in criminal activities.
The number of police officers is not sufficient to control the city.
Right now, they are stretched very thinly.
The street boys are aware of this and they are capitalising on the situation to harass and rob the innocent people, especially our mothers and sisters.
The recent Prime Minister’s XIII match was a good example of the police struggling to contain the situation.
The RPNGC needs to be beefed up urgently.
