Volleyball breaks for Queen’s birthday

TEAMS competing in the PNG Nambawan Trophy NCD volleyball competition will break for the Queen’s Birthday this weekend.
It will give the opportunity for the squad members to participate in a rural tournament in Yule Island in the Kairuku district.
The association will be sending an open and U21 in the men’s division and an open women’s side. They will be part of the 13-team competition that will provide the islanders with some exciting action.
With one game left before the end of round one in the competition, the undefeated Snipers are leading the men’s premier division with 18 points followed by U-Mi Yet 16, Scorpions 14, Vanama 14, Ela Motors 10, Vailima 10, After Dark 8 and Bullets 6.
U-Mi Yet are leading the women’s premier division on 16 points followed by Snipers 14, After Dark 14, Scorpions 14, Idubada 12, Bullets 10, Vailima 8 and YWCA 6.
Snipers lead men’s division one with 16, Ela Motors 14, After Dark 13, Scorpions 12, Vailima 11, Vanama 11, Bullets 10 and Korobosea 6.
The women’s division has Renos One on 16, Snipers 16, Vanama 14, Scorpions 12, Ela Motors 10, Korobosea 9, Renos Two 7 and Bullets 5 bringing up the rear.
