Vote education vital for safe elections

Letters

THE Papua New Guinea Electoral Commission needs to educate the vast voting population of Papua New Guinea before the polls.
Reading through media about strings of incidents happening in the Highlands is totally insane.
How can one burn an incumbent party’s flag?
Or burning campaign vehicles of incumbent MPs or intending candidates who wish to exercise their democratic rights as citizens of this country?
Something is wrong somewhere!
Election awareness is a pivotal tool of ensuring a free, fair and safe election.
Infighting between political parties must not be happening.
People should be calm and peaceful as we are into the campaign period.
Better educate the voting population, especially the supporters and followers of candidates so the elections can proceed smoothly.
